Oooo, pretty!

So I’ve found a new theme to use for the site. I liked the old theme with the cool opening-closing action, but there were a whole lot of things I wanted to change about it which would have taken me more time than it was worth. This theme is notable for its almost insane amount of customization available without having to dive into the code. So far I’m very happy with it, and you will probably see the layout and look change a lot as I decide how I like it.

Oh, by the way, the pictures you see are not mine, they came with the theme. I will however be replacing them with my own pictures soon.

My own pictures are up! Let me know what you think.

Pain and suffering

You know that area between the two minor knuckles on your fingers (basically the halfway point)? Do you have little hairs growing there? I do. Have you ever had an ingrown hair there? I have. I do right now, and it’s terribly annoying. From previous experience I’ve found that pulling out the offending hair helps it heal quicker, but the pain in doing so seems completely out of proportion to the activity.

Three foot grass taunts me.

My nemesis is

cold air blowing from above.

I hate this building.

Conversations with a 2 year old.

Me: *in the middle of something*

Rianna: *says something that sounds like she wants to go outside*

Me: What?  You want to go outside?

Rianna: Ok!

Me: Wait, no, that’s not what I meant!

Rianna: My go outside!

Me: Awe man…

Well that was easy.

Apparently I was trying to make it more difficult than it actually was.  I was having trouble getting the site back looking like it used to, completely ignoring the built-in export and import function of WordPress.  Once I got fed up with error messages and blank screens I actually searched for a way to move WordPress from one host to another and lo and behold it was right in front of me the whole time…

Long story short: It’s fixed and ready to go again.

So, related to the whole new host thing is the fact that on the new host I have essentially unlimited storage space.  This means I can finally synchronize my photos and videos with the website without worrying about disk space!  Sweet!  Get ready for the flood!

Hold on tight, we’re going in!

It’s that time of year again: web host payment time. This time, though, I decided to take a look around and see what other options there are out on the wild internets. I found out that the latest trend is for the host to offer unlimited storage and transfer! I have been suffering for lack of storage lately (since icdsoft only offers 1GB) so unlimited sounds like a good deal. As I shopped I found webhostgiant.com, who offer the unlimited plan for $5/month (which is about the same as my icdsoft account now). I’m now in the process of copying the site from here to there and we’ll see how things end up. I’m sure I’ll end up with some bumps to smooth out before I get completely settled in the new host, but since I update so infrequently no one reads my blog anyway so it doesn’t matter! See you on the other side!

“I don’t roll on shabbas”

I love a good parody, and this one is excellent. The attention to detail with the chat status messages is perfect.

Santa Claus’ Gmail account exposed!

Also be sure to check out the link at the bottom for the story about Santa being captured by imperial troops, priceless.

It’s a boy!

Damien Ash Blessing has finally arrived. And on his due date of all things. He was born at about 11:30am on Monday, October 27th. He was about 7.5lbs and about 19inches. So far he’s a great eater and pooper, so all is well.

My name is Chris and I’m an addict…

Ok, if my last post was for a quick hit of fun, this is a full on addiction. It’s the simple things that make me happy, and this game is as simple as they get. Move the ball from one place to another using only your wits and the laws of physics. I can’t get enough of Magic Pen.
